Zippy isn't exactly my first choice of nickname, but I begrudgingly admit that it somehow fits. My sister said the first time she came to this site, she knew Zippy was going to be me even though she'd never heard it before.

I've been singing for years, I really decided it was cool when I went to District Festival Chorus in 8th grade -- as a soprano. Sure, I had to sit and sing in a section that was almost entirely girls.... but I got to sit and sing in a section that was almost entirely girls.

Then my voice changed, meaning that advantage was right out. I sang with the Middlebury Bobolinks (as well as the madrigal group The Mountain Ayers) in college and that kicked some serious butt. Post college, I met Mike Schwartz and we started this group. Rock the casbah.
